No,, we haven’t forgotten about you. We’ll be bringing you a much greater, enhanced Portal AND app in the not-so-distant future! Our new 501c3 status is opening up a lot of opportunities, including membership drives, advertising, grant funding, etc etc etc.

As I make another trip around the sun, I look back to see how I got here. I’ve had some great ups and some not-so-great downs. But the one thing that remains constant is that I can’t get by without my friends.

Back in DC, I had a great circle of friends, who really were my family. There were about 12 of us in the circle and 6 of us in the family…

Things are kinda slow over here for a bit, Danny and I are busy working on GayCowboys.net portal getting that community up to speed. We’re in the middle of migrating GayCowboys.net to its own state of the art server, freeing up resources here. So Danny has said this will improve things here on The Root.

Full redo of the mobile version done for cowboys/vets TheBarn as well as TheRroot – these are subtle changes to the eye but on the backend it fixes a lot of issues and provide a seamless experience on phones as well.
Apart from that The root is fully updated to the new code base as well with all the fixes applied.

Hi – Just finished my 2 days marathon of making code updates to
improve speed and fix some code bugs and backend stuff. From My tests
I see benchmark improvement of about 67% overall. Previously largest
content element was 6 seconds and now its down to 2.1 seconds. The TBT
(script loading time) is down from 124ms to 11ms…

the render items and some scripts- speed has improved by about 20%.
